If you're looking for book recommendations for a 3-year-old, look no further! My daughter LOVES books. When she was just one, and I sat down to read with her, she would bring me a whole mountain of books. For 5 minutes, she would go back and forth to the bookshelf, creating a stack in front of me of ALLLL the books she wanted me to read.

Now that she'd 3, going on 4, she's graduated from board books and has some definite go-tos when it comes to the nightly bedtime routine of 2-4 books, depending on how fast she managed to get her pajamas on, teeth brushed, etc.

There is ONE specific set of books that she chooses from again and again:

"How to Catch..." books by Adam Wallace and Andy Elkerton are a top choice over and over. We have (and love) these ones:

How to Catch a Dinosaur

How to Catch a Monster

How to Catch a Unicorn

And my personal favorite:

How to Catch a Mermaid

These are beautifully illustrated with catchy rhymes and silly storylines. They are a totally digestible length, and absolutely perfect for a 3-year-old in terms of humor and complexity.

Our next additions to this collection will likely be some holiday editions!

I have my eye on:

How to Catch an Elf

I hope you and the child in your life love these books as much as we do! The collection seems to keep growing, and while I do think these are some of the best books for 3 year olds, I also can see these being a hit with a wide range of ages!
